you need to file, if your close to your RO you can walk in. Youll need your DD214 and progress reports from your Doc. Daman is the go to guy for all this, he should be along soon.

The VA will NOT automatically do anything for you like that.
YOU must file a claim.
As CHEWY says, fill out a claim form, enclosed the doctors name and diagnostics and any other medical information you have.
The sooner you get it in to the VA the sooner the effective date will be, if approved.

If you don't want to do all the claim paperwork go to your VA and talk with a VSO.  No cost to you and they do all the paperwork.
Like they said need the DD214, all of them if you have more than one.
Since you have a diagnosis from the VA the first big step towards a mental health (MH) disability claim has been taken.
Continue your treatment and medications.  If you file then expect a mental health C&P.  I recently had one and it was a breeze.  The C&P examiner reviewed the time from my last MH C&P to that day, treatment, and medications.  In and out in 45 minutes.
Don't wait go do it.

A VSO is a Veterans Service Officer. That is who will help you at the DAV (Disabled American Veterans)
